John was born 5 Dec 1856 in Etna Twp., Licking Co., Ohio. He died 29 Apr 1902 from a hunting accident. He was buried in Reynoldsburg Cemetery, Franklin Co., Ohio.
John was a farmer working on his father's farm. After marriage, they lived in a small house on the western edge of the property until Isaac died. Then they moved into the big house with his mother, Sally, while John's younger brother, Billy, and his wife moved into the small house.
When Sally died John bought the farm from his brothers. John was accidentally killed while hunting. Hester found John when he died. His gun had apparently discharged while he was climbing over a fence.

Hester was born 7 Jul 1863 in Liberty Twp, Fairfield Co., Ohio. She died 7 May 1959 in Cambridge, Ohio. She was buried in Silent Home Cemetery, Truro Twp., Franklin Co., Ohio.
She is the daughter of Peter & Catherine (Weyer) Miller.
Hester lived on the farm until moving into Columbus so the children could attend Ohio State University. She sold the farm in 1936 in order to settle the estate of her husband. There is no record of the farm being transferred to Hester after the death of John. She then lived with her children, moving from place to place. She died at the home of her daughter, Helen Hartman.
