#82 Willi Schroeder ( Aaron Schroeder )

Willi died.

He did not emigrate from Germany to the United States.

Letters from him arrived regularly until 1943 and then stopped. The presumption is that he died in the Holocaust. If this is true, there is no indication whether he was sent to a concentration camp (as opposed to dying elsewhere) and there is no completely centralized source of camp victims. However, the Holocaust Survivors and Victims Database lists five inmates of the camps with the name Willi Schroeder or Schröder. Of these, one was born in 1937, which is too young. Two others are documented in the camps in 1938, which is too early.

Willi Schröder, Prisoner #3851, arrived in Natzweiler-Struthof camp in France on 21 May 1943. The records show he was transferred to Buchenwald. He was born 6 Apr 1905.

The other entry is for Willy Schroeder. It's not an actual record of arrival, but a recording from the Dachau List of articles taken from prisoners. There is no specific date for his entry but the entire list is for events that occurred between Sep 1946 and 21 Jul 1947. It records a Dishonorable Discharge Certificate taken from Willy Schroeder born 27 Aug 1898.
