This site is a collation of descendants of my great4th-grandfather, Pinchas Kahane, at one time of Schönhausen, Germany.
Although we don't yet have a record of Pinchas' birthplace, his wife and daughter were born in Schönhausen.
In the 19th century, the town lay on the western edge of the Kingdom of Prussia as shown above in the map fragment from the Allgemeiner Historischer Handatlas of Professor G. Droysens. Today, the town of Schönhausen lies in the district of Stendal in Saxony-Anhalt in Germany. It is the seat of the Elbe-Havel-Land Verbandsgemeinde, which is a collective municipality much like an American township.
