In 1843, he went into business with his brother, Joel, in a store in Schnecksville, PA where he remained for 31 years. In 1875, he became the president of the National Bank of Slatington.
Peter married Mary RUDY on 26 Mar 1843. Mary was born in 1816. She died on 7 Feb 1874.
