After their marriage, Peter and Sarah moved to Bethlehem Twp., Hunterdon Co., NJ where Peter had a tavern. From "A History of Somerset, Morris, Hunterdon, Warren and Sussex Counties" Volume II, p. 935 is the following: "There is very little known about he origin of the Mechling tavern. It, no doubt, was built before the Revolution and helped to quench the thirst of those who carted iron from Bloomsbury to Pittstown. It was kept by Peter Mechlin, Sr. for 40 years and by his son, William, for 20 years.
Peter died intestate.
[Mercy VII-00] notes that one of his unnamed children may have been the Mary Macklin who married John Todd on 25 Dec 1858.
