Mabel was born 18 May 1886. She died 1953 in Elkhart Co., Indiana from drowning.

She died while learning to drive a car. She swerved and her car overturned into the Elkhart River. The death notice lists her age as 67, which is slightly inconsistent with the birth date found in other sources.
