Kelly was born 10 Aug 1921 in Cowanshannock, Armstrong Co., Pennsylvania. He died 3 Jul 2002 in East Franklin Twp., Armstrong Co., Pennsylvania. He was buried in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Armstrong Co., Pennsylvania.

He was a glassworker at Pittsburgh Plate Glass Industries in Ford City for 31 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was reported killed in action during the Battle of the Bulge on Dec. 21, 1944 but was actually captured and in POW camp. His family learned he was still alive on April 21, 1945.

At the time of his death, he had nine great-grandchildren, names unknown.
