Lavinia was born Abt 1831.

[Mercy VII-00] notes: "This is an educated guess listing her as a daughter of Thomas. In 1849, a girl by the name of Lavinia Mechling married a John Wagoner. If she was 18 when married, this would put her birthdate as around 1831. Living in Hunterdon Co. New Jersey in 1831 were the 5 sons of Peter. Sons Hiram and Peter were too young to be her father, and probably was William. The other son - John - married in 1840 probably to Eliza Ann Spangenburg...and this Eliza Ann could not have been her mother. As a result of this speculation, Thomas seems to be the best possibility of being her father."
