Joshua was born 4 Dec 1809 in Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. He was christened 14 Jun 1810 in First Lutheran Church, Greensburg, Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. He died 17 Dec 1879 in Perry Twp., Allen Co., Ohio. He was buried in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery (now Fletcher), Lima, Allen Co., Ohio.
His name was given as Josua Machling on his baptismal record.
He moved to Perry Co., Ohio with his parents in 1812.
In 1836, he and his family moved to Allen Co. to occupy part of the land purchased by his father, William, in 1833 and 1835. This consisted of 206 acres.
He died intestate.
Joshua married #1919 Sophia Weymer.
