Jacob was born 26 Apr 1821/1823 in Perry Co., Ohio. He died 12 Jan 1871 in Marshall Co., Indiana. He was buried in Lutheran Cemetery, Tiosa, Indiana.
In 1850, he was one of the organizers of the Tiosa Lutheran Church (now St. Paul's Lutheran Church) in Newcastle Twp., Fulton Co., Indiana. The 1860 Census shows them still in Fulton Co., but they later moved to Tippecanoe Twp., Marshall Co., Indiana.
