Phillip was born 8 Dec 1823 in Pleasant Twp., Madison Co., Ohio. He died 21 Mar 1907. He was buried in Basil Cemetery, Baltimore, Fairfield Co., Ohio.
After his father remarried, he was raised by his grandparents. After his grandfather died in 1842, Philip continued to live on the farm until 1848, when he moved to Liberty Twp., where he acquired 175 acres of land. He was a member of the Masonic Order and of the Reform Church. He was a township trustee for 15 years.
Phillip married first #13669 Salome "Sarah" Radabaugh.
