This site is a collation of descendants of George Dando of Somerset, England.

The information comes from various Dando descendants, both in my line and others.

George and his family are present in the records of High Littleton and Paulton. In the 17th century map fragment above we can see that they are parishes in the Hundred of Chewton. A hundred was one of 40 administrative units in Somerset used for tax and court purposes. Hundreds have never been abolished but their functions were taken over by counties and districts at the end of the 19th century. The family was in this area until the 1830s when they relocated to Wales, and then on to America in the 1860s.
